A Lamda exam is the speech & drama equivalent of a music grade. Like music grades, Lamda exams go up in grades and culminate at Grade 8 (Gold Medal).

Lamda examinations are rooted in encouraging learners of all ages to develop a love of literature, poetry and drama and therefore improve standards of communication through the spoken word.

Examinations are open to all and there is no requirement to begin at Entry Level. You may be looking to gain confidence in performance, speech, or communicate better at work or college – or simply looking for a new challenge! Exams can be completed in any order, although it’s necessary to ensure you are entered at the correct level and scene selections choices, when teaching children, are age-appropriate.

Lamda Medal level exams carry UCAS Points. Lamda Medal level exams carry UCAS Points which will benefit university applications, for example a Grade 8 Lamda exam result at Distinction level, carries 30 UCAS Points.
Employers will often look for Drama/Lamda on a CV as it demonstrates excellent communication skills, teamwork, confidence & creativity.
