From a young age, I was really passionate about acting and performing and I was really lucky to have Heather as my drama teacher throughout my school career. I was fairly shy and nervous in the first few years of secondary school but Heather encouraged me to pursue my love for performing and seize opportunities. I always loved my lessons with her as she really encouraged me to push myself and explore various paths I’d never even considered. Her emphasis on small details really gave me a new outlook on naturalistic acting and she offered advice and options/techniques that allowed me to use my whole skill set. It was an amazing experience to have been directed by her and view her creative approach to adapting theatre. These invaluable experiences that Heather offered me have truly prepared me for my acting career and I’ve cherished everything she’s taught me. I am very lucky to have been cast in a feature film and working towards future TV and film castings. I’m so grateful for the coaching and training I’ve received from Heather which has prepared me for opportunities like this.

Heather has been such an inspiration and influence in my performing arts career. From just 11 she was the reason for my enthusiasm towards acting. Progressing through school with her guidance and teaching meant I was always equipped with all the knowledge I needed in lessons as well as being offered a wealth of other tips and tricks which has helped me find my feet in my acting career. She always focused on criteria which made learning so straight forward and easily understandable especially when working with various practitioners and styles. Heather is detailed, focused and always pushes students to go the extra mile on even the smallest tweak. Performances and written work were always enhanced by her feedback and even the best performances were given improvements to make, really developing my acting and devising skills. Now I’m lucky to say that I have entered the world of film being cast for a Netflix feature film without the help of any external tuition or university, simply the dedication of this inspirational lady.

Heather is an exceptionally warm and encouraging mentor. She was able to motivate me in a way that no other teacher could. She emanated a pure passion for her work and allowed her students to understand her process as a teacher and creative, alongside guiding them through their own. Now as an adult I can say Heather positively moulded my approach to the arts and has helped me develop the tools I needed to excel. She is a wonderful teacher and a fantastic human being and an exemplary creative.
I would not be equipped to receive my current opportunities without her mentorship, and I am incredibly grateful for her warmth and passion for Drama to guide me through my youth.
